To remove a friend from your Xbox One account, you can follow these steps:

Open the Xbox Guide:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the Xbox Guide.
Access Your Friends List:

In the Xbox Guide, go to the "Friends & clubs" tab. It looks like two people icons.
Find the Friend You Want to Remove:

Scroll through your friends list and locate the friend you want to remove.
Select the Friend:

Highlight the friend's gamertag in your list.
View Their Profile:

Press the "A" button on your controller while their gamertag is selected to open their profile.
Remove Friend:

In their profile, select the "Friends" option.
Remove from Friends:
