About this video: In this video, we show you how to set your spawn on a Minecraft server. Setting your spawn is one of the first steps of getting your Minecraft server ready. It will make sure that all of the players that join your server have a very consistent experience right from the beginning. We even show you how to have a different spawn for new players which will allow you to walk your players through different tutorials on your server when they first join in. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to make a spawn on a Minecraft server.
The first step of this is making sure that you can add plugins to your server. If you don’t know how to add plugins or you don’t have a Bukkit, Spigot, or Paper server, you can check out our video on making a Paper Minecraft server in the description above. You have to be able to add plugins to your server to easily change the spawn and get all of the features you need to really add a new spawn to a Minecraft server.
Once you confirm you can add plugins to your Minecraft server, you need to download and install the EssentialsX and EssentialsX Spawn plugins. You can see how to do this using the link in the description above. EssentialsX will allow you to do a lot more than just change your spawn, but for this video, we will just be using the spawn related features.
Finally, it is time to set the location of your Minecraft spawn. To do this, simply go to the location that you want the spawn to be in, and then, run the /setspawn command. When you do that, the spawn will set in the exact location you are standing. Now, you can do /spawn to get back to that location.
You can also do /setspawn (groupname) to be able to make certian groups spawn in different areas. For example, /setspawn newbies will make new players spawn in the location you are standing in.
There are additional spawn features in the config.yml in the Essentials plugin folder. Here you can set the default kit for new players, in addition, to change join messages and all of the other features that EssentialsX adds in.
Nevertheless, without any more delay, you now know how to set your spawn on a Minecraft server.
