About this video: This video will show you every single step of downloading, installing, and using data packs in Minecraft 1.16.1. We will start off giving you a great list of data packs to download for Minecraft that are all 1.16.1 compatible. Then, we will move on to show you how to add data packs to a Minecraft 1.16.1 world that you have already created, and finally, we will show you how to install data packs on a new Minecraft world. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to use data packs in Minecraft 1.16.1.
The first step getting data packs for 1.16.1 is finding some data packs to download. Luckily, we have a complete list of data packs for Minecraft 1.16.1 linked in the description above. There, you will find all kinds of different data packs from VanillaTweaks to data packs focused on Minecraft Achievements to data packs that will help you mine and cut down trees easier. No matter what kind of data pack you are looking for, you will find it on our list. Just click the green ‘Download’ button under the data pack to go to their official download pages.
Once you have your data packs downloaded, we can go ahead get the data packs installed in Minecraft 1.16.1. Please note though that you can only add data packs to Minecraft 1.16.1 single player worlds, and that data packs must be readded for each world that you want to install them on. To get data packs in a Minecraft single player world, click on ‘single player’, click on the world you want use data packs on, and then, click on the ‘edit’ button. You will now see an ‘Open World Folder’ button. Click that, and your world folder will open. Here, you will see a ‘datapacks’ folder. Open that, and now, drag-and-drop any datapacks that you want to install in Minecraft 1.16.1 into this folder.
It is that easy to add data packs to Minecraft 1.16.1. However, we aren’t done just yet. You still need to open up your world your world, and when you are in-game, type /reload. That will activate any datapacks that you have added. If you have issues with this, just open up the world to LAN and enable cheats. This is only needed the first time that you install datapacks, so don’t worry about always having to do this.
