About this video: In this video, we will show you exactly how to make a Bukkit server for Minecraft 1.16.1. We go over every single step of getting a Bukkit server setup in 1.16.1, and we even show you how to let your friends play on your Bukkit server with you. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to create a Bukkit server in Minecraft 1.16.1
The first step of getting a Bukkit server is downloading the CraftBukkit 1.16.1 server files. You can find a link in the description above to download the Bukkit server files. When you click that link, it will actually take you to our text tutorial for getting CraftBukkit 1.16.1. When you are here, just scroll down and click the yellow ‘Download Bukkit’ button. This will take you to the Bukkit download page where you want to click the download button next to 1.16.1. That will take you to a page where you will see ‘CraftBukkit-1.16.1.jar’ Click that text, and your download will begin. You will need to keep/save the file depending on the browser.
After you have your CraftBukkit file downloaded, create a new folder on your desktop called ‘Bukkit Server’. Drag-and-drop the Bukkit 1.16.1 file into this folder. Then, right-click and create a ‘new text document’ in this folder. Open that document, and paste one of the codes above depending on how much RAM you want on your server. Then, click File, Save As, name the file ‘Run.bat’, and change ‘save type as’ to ‘all files’. Then, save the document.
Now, double click on the ‘run.bat’ file to start the server. The server will fail on first start-up, but you will have an ‘eula.txt’ file. Open that file, and and change ‘eula=false’ to ‘eula=true’. Save the file, and then, double click on the ‘run.bat’ file. Your Bukkit server would then start up running Minecraft 1.16.1. At this point, you could join your server with your local IP address. However, in order for your friends to join, you will need to port forward.
We cover port forwarding in-depth in this video, but we also have additional links in the description above that will help you port forward as well. The port you want to forward is port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocols. Then, once you do that, get your public IP from the description above. This is how your friends will join your server.
At this point, you know how to make a Bukkit server in Minecraft 1.16.1! If you have any questions about creating a Bukkit server, please let us know in the comment section below.
