The first way to play Minecraft with your friends is on a public server. There are tons of different public servers out there. There you will find 5 amazing servers with options for everything from Factions to survival to SkyBlock to mini-games. There is sure to be a Minecraft server that you and your friends will love.
If you want a bit more control over your Minecraft experience though, you will want to play on a server you started your self. There are two ways to make a Minecraft server - the easy way and the hard way. The easy way is by purchasing a server from a Minecraft server hosting company. We recommend Apex Minecraft Hosting, but you can use any hosting company. Just make sure they use good hardware and have great support - both of which Apex does.
The other way to start a Minecraft server for you and your friends is on your own computer. While this method is free, it does take a lot of time and requires a pretty good PC and internet connection. The third and final way to play Minecraft with your friends is actually using your single player world and creating a LAN world. Now, in order for this work, you and whoever you want to play Minecraft with need to be on the same internet connection in the same house. If you aren’t, it will not work. However, if you are, just open up a single player Minecraft world, hit escape, select ‘Open to LAN’, change any settings you want to change, and then, click ‘Start LAN World’. Now, your friend can go to the ‘multiplayer’ tab on their Minecraft, and they will see your world. If they double click that, your friend will join your single player Minecraft world. You now know how to play single player Minecraft with your friends using a LAN world.
