About this video: This video is our step-by-step guide on how to download and install #LuckPerms in #Minecraft. We go over every single thing that you will need to get LuckPerms up and running on your #MinecraftServer. From where to download LuckPerms to how to setup LuckPerms on BungeeCord to even how to add groups and ranks to your server. We go over all, so without any further delay, let's jump on into it!
First and foremost, we need to download LuckPerms. You can find the LuckPerms download link at the link in the description above. After that, install LuckPerms by dropping it into your server's 'plugins' folder. Next, we need to edit the LuckPerms config. Just read through this and set it up as needed.
From there, you need to let yourself edit everything involving LuckPerms. Do this with this simple command.
/lp user {your username} permission set luckperms.* true
After that command has been run, you can start to add ranks to your server. You can add as many ranks to your server as you want. From VIP ranks to VIP+, owners ranks, and anything else you want to call them. This is how you add ranks to your server. Just run this command for each rank you want.
/lp creategroup {group name}
Now add prefixes and suffixes to ranks in Minecraft is pretty easy too. Just run these commands below for prefixes and suffixes. You can use Bukkit color codes with these, so feel free to go crazy and add any and all the colors you want!
/lp group {group} meta addprefix {priority} "{prefix}"
/lp group {group} meta addsuffix {priority} "{suffix}"
On to the best feature of LuckPerms - the online editor. This allows you to visually edit all of your server's permissions, suffixes, ranks, etc without having to run commands in game. This is especially great when you are running adding hundreds of permissions at a time like with EssentialsX. You can open the online editor with this super simple command.
/lp editor
In the online editor, you can literally change everything about your ranks and permissions from suffixes and prefixes to permissions to what server on your BungeeCord network permissions work out. You have tons of different options. Just say and copy the command it gives you into the game to execute any changes.
Now that you have your ranks to your players? Well, this is a super simple command and has to be done in game. Below are both commands for giving a player a rank with LuckPerms
Remove previous rank and sets a new rank - /lp user {player name} parent set {rank}
Add new ranks, but keep old rank. Good for giving a mod the perks of a purchased rank. - /lp user {player name} parent add {rank}
