This is often referred to as post holiday blues.\n\nResearch from the American Psychological Association (2023) suggests that around 33% of people who were surveyed about the holidays said that their stress level increased and as well as changes in mood. \n\nWhat I tend to see after January 1st is a general lack of peace and joy.\n\nMost people find themselves questioning their family, becoming more angered by clueless family members, and/or may feel abandoned or unloved.\n\nToxic family dynamics are often at the core of most people's unhappiness after the holidays.
