How to Switch Between 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz Wifi Internet on PS5 Console (Best Method)
2You can manually switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands on your PS5 console by changing a setting within the network menu. By default, the console is set to "Automatic" and may not always choose the faster 5GHz band.
How to Switch Wi-Fi Bands
From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon ⚙ ️ in the top-right corner).
Select Network.
Go to Settings on the left menu, then select Set Up Internet Connection.
Highlight your current Wi-Fi network and press the Options button (the button with three lines) on your controller.
In the pop-up menu, select Wi-Fi Frequency Bands.
You can then choose between Automatic, 5 GHz, or 2.4 GHz.
5 GHz: This band offers faster speeds and is ideal for online gaming and downloads, but it has a shorter range. Use this if your PS5 is close to your router.
2.4 GHz: This band has a longer range and is more stable at a distance, but the speeds are slower. Use this if your PS5 is far from your router or if the 5GHz signal is unreliable.
