A common issue in the Shotcut video editor is that the waveform associated with your audio isn't displayed after you add it to an audio track. A common cause of missing audio waveforms in Shotcut is the high performance waveform feature that's enabled by default. As a result, if you're stuck staring at a blank audio track in Shotcut one simple thing you can try is to disable the high performance waveforms feature.
Now let's walk through the steps to turn off high performance audio waveforms in Shotcut.
Step 1. Launch Shotcut and then open the video file you're editing together.
Step 2. Navigate down to the timeline, and then right click an audio block on the left side of the timeline. A context menu is displayed.
Step 3. Click "Options" in this menu. Another expanded menu is shown.
Step 4. Click to remove the check mark from the "Use Higher Performance Waveforms" option. Your audio waveforms should now be displayed again.
