How to Unlock Android Phone if Forgot the Password
Factory Reset via Recovery Mode (Destructive, Erases All Data)
If the above methods fail (e.g., no Google/Samsung/Huawei account or no internet), a factory reset is the last resort. This erases all data (apps, photos, settings) but unlocks the phone.
Power Off the Phone:
Press and hold the Power/Side button and select Power Off. If you can’t access the menu, hold Power + Volume Down for 10–20 seconds to force a shutdown.
Enter Recovery Mode:
Samsung:
Press and hold Volume Up + Power/Side button (or Bixby button on older models like Galaxy S10) until the Samsung logo appears.
Release when the Recovery Mode menu loads.
Honor:
Press and hold Volume Up + Power button until the Honor logo or Recovery Mode appears.
Release when the menu appears.
Navigate to Factory Reset:
Use Volume Up/Down buttons to highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Press the Power/Side button to select it.
Confirm Reset:
Select Yes or Confirm using the Volume buttons and Power button.
Wait for the reset to complete (1–2 minutes).
