Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where we are gaming every day! I am your host for today, Professor Stu, and we are continuing with the saga of Hyper Street Fighter II! Up for today is that loveable giant from Mexico: Thunderhawk!

Thunderhawk or T. Hawk as he is referenced in the game due to space limitations, is one of the four new challengers introduced in the Street Fighter II patch "The New Challengers." The other three being Dee Jay, Cammy, and Fei Long. Now, no one that I have ever known has ever tried to say that Street Fighter II is without its stereotypes and Thunderhawk is certainly not an exception! Wearing an Apache-styled outfit from the late 1800's, his ending clearly depicts northwestern New Mexico to Northeastern Arizona around the Shiprock/Canyon De Chelles region but he is labeled as being from Mexico and his stage has both Mayan and Olmec influences but is certainly not depicting the area of Mexico that the map shows he is from. Confusing? Indeed but who cares really, it is a video game!

Thunderhawk is the most physically imposing character in the game, dwarfing even the Russian bear, Zangief. Similarly, Thunderhawk and Zangief have similar levels of damage dealt but Thunderhawk undoubtedly has the longest reach in the game (except for Dhalsim) due to his large physique. Now Thunderhawk has three special moves and they are as follows: the "Tomahawk Buster" is his first and it uses the dragon punch input with a punch (forward, down, down forward diagonal) where the strength determines the damage and distance traveled. It is an anti-air move. Second is the "Mexican Typhoon" which is a full 360 and a punch while near the opponent. It is difficult to pull off but it does a boatload of damage. It is very useful for fighting Akuma. Finally is his "Condor Dive" which is all three punch buttons simultaneously while in the air. Very useful attack and not terribly difficult to pull off. His EX or hyper move is the "Double Typhoon" which is pretty much what it says. Two 360 rotations and then a punch to activate it while near an opponent.

Thunderhawk is very user-friendly as well as being beginner friendly. His best special move is a pain but once you are used to it then it becomes quite easy and reliable to pull off. His basic attacks his hard and he has a long reach. Very good to start off with.

Thunderhawk is one of the few characters I had little difficulty with Akuma with and thus the full credits are available to watch as well as his ending. I hope you enjoy the video and are ready to watch Cammy's video which will be up next!

With that, keep on gaming every day, hit those like and subscribe buttons, and have a great day!
