Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where we are gaming every day! I am your host for the day, Professor Stu, and we are continuing in our HSF2 series with Vega!

Vega is a fighter who, like Balrog, originally was one of Bison's lieutenants who loved enforcing the will of Shadoloo on the unsuspecting public. As his character developed he went from weird, Spanish matador who wore a claw to a very vain man who loved to show off his "beauty" to the world and further to an assassin who, if I remember correctly, is supposed to be a contract killer for Shadoloo in the Street Fighter Alpha movie.

Regardless of what he is supposed to be, Vega is one thing undeniably: fast. Vega is by far the fastest character and has the greatest mobility on-screen of any character. He can quickly leap to either side of the screen, unleashing deadly throws or drop attacks on his opponent. Pummel him at close range and try to knock his claw off or he will decimate you.

Vega's special moves start with the "Rolling Crystal flash" which is charge back and then forward with a punch where the punch determines the distance and damage of this rolling attack. Next up is the "Wall Jump" which is charge down and then up with a kick. He will jump to the closest wall in very quick fashion, thus setting up several other attacks. The first of these attacks that comes after the jump is the "Flying Barcelona Attack" which is simply performed by pushing a punch. It results in Vega swinging his arms outward in a clawed swipe which can knock the opponent down. The second attack stemming from the jump is the "Izuna Drop", performed by holding left or right and then pushing a punch button when Vega is next to the opponent. The Izuna Drop is a throw which deals a large amount of damage. Next is the "Sky High Claw" which is performed by charging down and then up followed by punch and then punch. This is a wall jump where he glides into the opponent, dealing damage. Following this in the list are the "Back Slash" and "Short Back Slash" which are performed by pushing all three punches or kicks simultaneously and respectively. Vega's final special move is his anti-air ability which is the "Scarlet Terror", perfomed by charging diagonal down back and then forward with a kick. Vega's EX or Hyper move is the "Rolling Izuna Drop" which is performed by charging diagonal down back, then diagonal down forward, down, diagonal down back, then diagonal forward up with a kick and then finally a punch when he nears the opponent coming down.

So not only did I defeat Akuma with Vega, but I also unlocked that weird "Champion" screen like I did with Chun Li and Cammy as well. Still not sure how I did it so if you know, then please comment below! With the defeat of Akuma both Vega's full credits and his ending are available to watch.

That is all for this video, join us next time we play through with Ryu's arch-nemesis: Sagat! Please hit those subscribe and like buttons and keep on gaming every day!
