Hyper Street Fighter II Intro Video
3Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where we are gaming every day! Today we are watching the intro to Hyper Street Fighter II with Professor Stu because every game has to start somewhere!
The intro to this game is unique as it has a built-in shout out to every preceding Street Fighter II game: World Warriors, Turbo, Super, New Challengers, Championship, and finally Hyper Fighting! Now, if you haven't played all of these different games then you wouldn't know what the differences really are as they are small in most respects.
World Warriors is the original game with eight characters, Turbo added additional speed to the fighting, Super added the EX bar which unlocked new attacks, New Challengers unlocked Cammy/Dee Jay/Thunderhawk/Fei Long to the mix, Championship added Balrog/Vega/Sagat/M. Bison, and finally Hyper mixed all of these together with additional Hyper combos and the addition of the new hidden final boss: Akuma/Gouki depending upon language of the game.
The storyline really changed little between all of the games but the combination of these games led into what I would consider the best fighting game series of all time: Marvel Vs. Capcom!
