Welcome to the Retro Gamer 365 where we are gaming every day! I am Professor Stu and today we are going to be looking at Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition and playing through it with Cammy!

Cammy may very well be the most convoluted backstory character in the entire game of Street Fighter II, perhaps the entire Street Fighter series! Depending upon which game it is, Cammy has gone from everything from being Bison's personal assassin to a covert British operative, to Bison's girlfriend who somehow got amnesia. In actuality, amnesia is pretty much the only common thread between all of her different storylines. Anyway you look at it, Cammy is a controversial character due to the mule that she wears and probably was the most hotly contested character until people in the US got a glimpse of the real Mai Shiranui from the King of Fighters series by SNK who was heavily edited in her US release.

Cammy has a large retinue of abilities but many of these are varieties which spin off of one of her other abilities, namely the "Hooligan Combination" which can combo into the "Fatal Leg Twister" which is performed while near the opponent's head with any kick button or the "Cross Series Pressure" which is performed near the opponent's waist with a kick. The Hooligan starts with a strange input combination of diagonal down back, down, down forward diagonal, forward, and then forward up diagonal with a punch. This will end with the "Razor Edge Slicer" by default but can transition into either of the two throws listed above with the right input. Cammy also has the "Spiral Arrow" which turns her into a projectile. This is performed by a QCF (Quarter Circle Forward) or down, down forward diagonal, and then forward with a kick where the strength determines the distance traveled and the damage. Next up is the "Cannon Spike" which is her anti-air move; performed by a dragon punch input but with a kick. This is forward, down, down forward diagonal and then the kick button. Her final special move is the "Quick Spin Knuckle" which can actually go through projectiles if timed correctly. The input is really strange in this game as it is back, diagonal back down, then forward with a punch where strength determines the distance and damage. Her EX or Hyper combo move is the "Spin Drive Smasher" which is essentially a much longer Spiral Arrow followed by a Cannon Spike in one fluid motion. It is performed by essentially a double QCF with a kick but it technically is a QCF and then a down, down forward diagonal, then kick.

Cammy is one of my favorite characters to play as because she moves so incredibly fast. The downside to her speed is that she is really weak in her moves but she can connect a large number of them in quick succession which can make up for it. I was able to take down Akuma with her on round 3 as I lost the first round to him so the full credits are in the video. Just like with Chun-Li though I got a "Cammy Champion" screen at the end before Akuma's angry pose game over screen. If anyone knows what exactly I did in order to get this screen then please let me know in the comments below!

That is everything for this video so please like and subscribe to get more great gaming content like this! Keep on gaming every day and we'll see you next week for the video of Fei Long playing through Hyper Street Fighter II!
