I'm Not a State, I'm a Monster! - Episode 2: Playable Theater

Well, I can't say I'm completely surprised. But usually when I anticipate a stream's going to run short, I end up being wrong. Usually when one of these playthroughs ends early, it's entirely unexpected. I guess I wasn't expecting to finish before midnight... but I feel like that doesn't really count as much of a surprise. In retrospect, I kind of regret not just making this a one-stream wonder. Though honestly, only getting two-thirds of the the way through the game did eat up a usual stream. So I guess it just worked out in the end. I even got to do my next roll earlier than I expected.
I have to admit, I did technically cheat on this stream. After essentially leading my third reporter to her death due to the game's ...bizarre hit detection, I decide to just reload my save and try again, this time with the knowledge that activating a red dot is far more important than actually aiming properly at enemies. This was an important lesson, honestly. It probably would've saved my first reporter, though honestly, the second one was pretty much doomed because I misinterpreted what I was meant to do when I lost her.
Aside from that first hiccup, things went pretty smoothly. Dari kind of scolded me for essentially avoiding an extreme amount of side content for the sake of trying to protect my reporters... but as I said last time, this game is extremely unfriendly to newcomers. But only in the sense that bumbling your way through means that you miss a lot of content.
Since I had time left over, I also happened to check out the extras menu. From what Dari tells me, the "movie theater" I tried accessing was actually a glitch, brought about by removing a special character only present in the original Japanese release... based on a Japanese actress. However, considering the fact that Justine was still fully voiced makes me wonder if that was the case.
Either way, I ended up giving the game an 8/10. And frankly, finishing up my first stream before the end of January always gives me motivation. Let's hope the rest of the year goes well too.
