Well, this stream went on WAY longer than I was expecting... and frankly, most of it was just fooling around with Extra Mode. So, consider this to essentially be a case of me trying to give my small but dedicated audience a little more bang for their buck.

Jumping Flash! 2 isn't that different from its predecessor. In a lot of ways, it's the textbook definition of a "level pack sequel". But, truth be told, this might honestly be one of the best iterations on the concept I've ever come across. Sure, the gameplay is essentially identical to the original game, but the stage design has improved substantially in a lot of ways. JF2's refinement to the first game's mechanics in minimal at best, but it's what Exact and MuuMuu (formerly Ultra) were able to do with them that is truly impressive. It almost makes the first Jumping Flash! feel like a mere tutorial for its sequel.

Since I had a lot of leftover time after finishing the main campaign -- just like last time, of course -- I decided to try out Extra Mode again. The thing is, early on, I got a bunch of extra lives... and it felt like a waste to not use them. So I ended up deciding to keep going until I got a game over. What I wasn't expecting was to make it all the way to the final boss... only to die there. I might just have to beat it on my own at some point. As far as I'm concerned, JF2 is done and dusted.

I forgot to give this game a rating last night, so I'll do it here. I consider it on par with the first game, so it's an 8.5/10. I know I said it was better, but honestly, the fact that it was a sequel kind of means I expected it to improve in the first place. And I've decided to go into overtime on this stream, bringing in the final game in the series into the mix: the Japan-exclusive Robbit mon Dieu.
