Injured war veterans from Britain and America have joined forces for the UK's inaugural Soldier Ride.

Around 30 soldiers are riding side-by-side through England and France.

The ride, which is backed by The Soldiers Charity, involves covering up to 25 miles a day on specially adapted bikes.

The route includes stops at Sandhurst, Windsor Castle and the Olympic Velodrome, together with the D-Day beaches of Normandy.

Those cycling include soldiers who have had amputations and eye injuries.
