Inscryption - Playing Act 2 as Magnificus pt1. Exorcising Grimora
The Magical Deck can be extremely strong if you use a Green or Green-hybrid Mox setup and utilize the Stim Mage and Gourmage. Those cards gain +1 ATK and Health by burning Bones and Energy. Those resources are sitting around idle otherwise, so turning them into raw stats makes for a really powerful and fun deck. I like the Gem Fiend, Spore Mage, and Hover Mage, so personally I like to run a Green/Blue Mox deck, although Green/Orange can be good if you collect enough Master Goranj and Goranj Mox. Since I'm playing by "pure Scrybe" rules I'm only allowed to utilize Mox as a resource, so my deck is slightly less powerful than it could be. Still, a Blue/Green deck is plenty potent without those two cards thanks to Gem Fiend and Force Mages.
My first goal here is to collect enough cards to eliminate Orange from my deck. Playing with all three Mox types adds too much RNG, you need to trim down for deck consistency. I get just enough Blue cards to remove all of the Mage Knights and most of the Orange Mox from my deck. I have to keep one Orange Mox but it will serve as a chump blocker. Also I forget to grab the Clover, I'll do that at the beginning of the next video.
The Trapper can be pretty tough with the Magical starting deck, so I tackle Grimora first. I get a great draw on Kaycee and bulldoze right over her. Any hand where you can play a Gem Fiend on turn 1 is a strong start.
My hand for Sawyer is messier. This is why running a tri-color deck is problematic. I get Green and Orange Mox but then mostly Blue cards. I use my Orange Mox as a chump blocker as planned and get my Blue Mox on turn 3 finally. With the Force Mage holding off the Bone Hound, Gem Fiend makes quick work of the fight. Sawyer gives me the final card I need to cycle Orange completely out of my deck.
Royal's damage output is low, and even lower with an early Force Mage placed in a good spot. He gives me plenty of time to get to a Gem Fiend and once again end things fast. I pick up another Junior Sage after Royal. These are nice with a Blue/Green deck because they require a Green Mox to play, but they survive even if the Mox is destroyed. Since I run Blue-heavy with Green as more of a secondary, it's nice to be able to throw out a Green Mox, lay some Junior Mages, destroy the Green Mox and switch to Blue as needed.
As long as you're strategic about your card order, a Force Mage on the far right completely stops Grimora in her tracks. And it's another card that only gets better after she returns it as undead because it becomes free. Grimora is often one of the tougher Scrybes but with the Magical Deck she's probably the easiest.
