After finding success with their “Life Is Strange” series of games, DON’T NOD have put that series on hiatus to try some new ideas. They’re currently working on an elaborate action game called Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden (which I’m really looking forward to), and they’ve also made this smaller self-published game called Jusant (which is apparently a French word for a receding tide).
This is the demo from the most recent Steam Next Fest. It has a lengthy opening cutscene to establish the setting and story, but I skipped most of that so I could just show the gameplay section. The game itself also has some hidden secrets that add extra lore (letters and trinkets and stuff like that), but I didn’t show those in this video so I could keep the playthrough to about 10 mins.
The easiest way to describe this game is "It’s like Journey but with rock climbing". And as someone who loved Journey, I think it has great potential!
