In this episode, I attempt again to test the Skipper engines for a contract, and on the same flight also test the Poodle engine for another contract.
We then attempt to rescue Seefrey Kerman from orbit, while also running tests for a few other contracts. The biggest is a contract for testing the landing gear while on an escape trajectory away from Kerbin. To accomplish this, we build two small 'satellites' which are just a probe, a small fuel tang, a small engine, and the landing gear on top. We also attempt to test the 3m decoupler in orbit and the Hydrolic Detachment Manifold while sub-orbital.
We take off and get into orbit. We then boost the ship into an elliptical orbit, to give the test satellites a boos of speed. We detach them, and take control of one, firing it's engine to get to escape velocity. The satellite isn't balanced well, but by thrusting in pulses or slowly, we can maintain our orientation. One we reach escape velocity, we successfully test the landing gear.
Back at the main ship, we perform a small burn that will have use come within 4km of Seefrey. We match his orbit when we get close, and after some small trouble, get him on board.
We still have to run a few tests and get him back to the survace, that that will be in the next video!
