I'm continuing my Kerbal Space Program First Contract game.

Last time we picked up Seefrey Kerman in orbit. We perform some experiments with the thermometers we have attached to the ship. We then attempt to test the 3m decoupler, but just before we do, we notice that that isn't the only item in that stage. We attempt to fix the staging, but can't seem to get it working. An attempt to manually trigger the decoupler is used, but apparent'y it doesn't count for the test. :( Testing the hydrolic detachment manifold goes better. We then land very close to thespace center, but we damage the engine in the process.

We decide that we'd like to unlock a different capsule for the lander, so we need to take a few more contracts and complete them quickly. The first ship is supposed to test the BACC solid boosters, the Mk16-XL parachute and the TR-2V small decoupler once splashed down. We would have completed all of these contracts if we didn't run out of power before we splashed down, prevent the decoupling once splashed down.

To get that test done, we make a smaller version of that ship, with the basic solid booster. Thermometers are added for some bonus science. This flight goes smoothly.

Finally, we build a rocket to test some small engines in flight, the 24-77 and the 48-7S. The contracts for both indicate similar speeds and altitudes, so they are put in the same stage. The flight looks like we won't have the needed speed for the test, but we turn the ship sideways to pickup horizontal speed without leaving the test altitude and are able to fulfill the contracts. We use our remaining fuel to reverse direction and land back near KSC.

Using the science we earned from the contracts we are able to unlock the one man lander can capsule. Next time, we design and launch a ship for Minmus!
