This route uses the same basic strategy for Nightmare Peaks II, except with a slight twist! If you're able to start this level as Berzerker, you can actually use a round of invulnerability before collecting the Cyclone helmet, such that you can go through the drills near the end of the level and finish it one second earlier. This could go down to as low as 2:52, but may require TAS strats.
The reason why The Nightmare Peaks I was also shown in this video is because of the sheer difficulty in bringing Berzerker to The Nightmare Peaks II. As you can see at, 0:05, Berzerker must make this jump immediately after exiting a crawlspace, passing through and landing on a ghost block with a tight cycle. Since this jump happens to be frame perfect, the Kid Chameleon highscoring community requires that any record using Berzerker on Nightmare Peaks II shows this level. It is extremely difficult to time correctly (arguably harder than the score goal itself), and providing video evidence shows that the player has mastered this trick.
Special thanks to Kitchengun and Skarloey100 for discovering this method.
