Kid Chameleon High Scores - Plethora (48,340 Points) [WR]
And now, the Kid Chameleon IL runs come to an end with the final boss, Plethora. There have been plenty of absurdly hard levels along the way that have made for amazing videos. This one, while I consider it an easy level, is just crazy to watch, as Heady Metal is defeated insanely fast using this method!
You need to enter this level as Red Stealth and make sure you have 20 diamonds in your roster. There's no diamonds to be found in this level, nor is there a Red Stealth helmet available for helmet reset glitch.
There's two clocks in this level: one near the upper right corner, and the upper in the lower left corner of the stage. Since the entire progress made in the battle is dependent on the time it takes for Heady Metal to descend to a certain height, there's no set time for which to collect these. All you have to do is make sure you collect them, such that Heady Metal always moves downwards (i.e. stay below the middle of his head). They should also be collected at the very end of a second, so that the timer is buffered as long as possible.
Now that you know about the protocol for clock collecting, let's get to actually defeating Heady Metal. At some point, you need to reveal the prize block containing the Micromax helmet, and let it drop, so that it can be saved for later. At the right moment (it's difficult to pinpoint when, as it can vary depending on how many frames you buffered by collecting clocks. If the timer was buffered perfectly, it would be a short time after the clock turns to 8:50), Jump up to the platform to collect the Micromax helmet, using Samurai Haze at the very moment before actually collecting it.
The Samurai Haze will now carry over to Micromax - useful for trapping Heady Metal in an even tighter place than normal, due to Micromax's tiny hitbox. Bounce on the rubber blocks once before getting on the platform. Ride it to the top, and at the right moment, run off of it to start bouncing on Plethora's head. If your timing was just right, the final hits should be dealt in quick succession. Too slow and the hits will be dealt slowly, but too fast and you will fall straight through the boss, as the space between the top of Plethora's head and the ceiling will be smaller than Micromax's hitbox. Regardless, if you defeated Plethora with optimal speed, you should reach the flag with 8:34 on the clock. I have a feeling 8:35 may be possible, as I was so close to it; it's possible I may have overlooked something, and a 1-second improvement could be done....
...And with this video complete, I am proud to announce that my score for every individual level and path has totaled to a grand score of 2,843,671 points! That's a little bit over a million points above the current world record single-segment highscore run, which makes this video series a success in my eyes. Though none of them received that many views so far, I was able to learn many things I never previously knew about almost every level in the game. I even learned new strats I plan to implement in my next single-segment highscore run!
Thanks to everyone who took the time to watch these 61 score IL records I made. I really appreciate it, as a lot of hard work, dedication, and free time went into them :P I enjoy everyone's comments, and I hope the great viewership continues. Special thanks to Kitchengun, Skarloey, and Tyadran for additional help and suggestions, whose contributions helped make some levels much more highscoring than expected!
I hope you all enjoyed this video series... next up, an updated single-segment highscore run! :D
