Pac-Man World 2 - Uber B-Doing Glitch
This is a newly discovered glitch which allows you to bounce to absolutely ridiculous heights on B-Doings.
I've actually known about this glitch for some time, rarely pulling it off as a kid, but have only recently discovered what causes this glitch, and how to make it relatively consistent. The glitch does not work on angled B-Doings, but does work on every red and blue B-Doing in the game. Red B-doings add only a relatively small amount of height to your bounce, while blue B-Doings just hilariously launch you to heights previously unknown!
The criteria for pulling off the glitch are:
1. Bounce as close to the edge of the B-Doing as possible.
2. Lower the game's framerate, either through pause-spamming, or on the PC version, increase the graphics beyond what the game can handle to run smoothly.
Update: this glitch has been successfully pulled off on Xbox and Dolphin! This actually makes sense since PC is a port of the Xbox version, and emulators like Dolphin have highly variable framerates. But there's still no luck with GC or PS2. This may be because GC and PS2 consoles run at too consistent a framerate for this to happen.
If you have this on PC, Xbox, or Dolphin, you're in luck. I've found a couple of speedrun uses for it, each saving one or more seconds. I've even found some highscore uses for it. See, after collecting a checkpoint, you points from killing enemies is saved; dying after collecting a checkpoint allows those enemies to respawn, and you can kill them an additional time before the next checkpoint. As a result, to get a very high score on a level, you're going to need to do lots of backtracking. In B-Doing Woods and and Volcanic Panic, you can go back to areas that contain enemies, which were originally inaccessible before the advent of this glitch.
Have fun testing this out for yourself, and let me know if you find any new skips or strats of your own! :)
