All decks in Hearthstone fit into a certain archetype. Aggro, zoo, midrange, combo and control are just some of them and knowing what kind of deck you’re playing and up against can help you determine what your best plays are. Whether the odds are stacked against you or you they say that you shouldn’t have too much difficulty, all the information you can get is an advantage that your opponent may not have. Playing a quest tells your opponent loud and clear what your deck’s objective is and while there are some powerful boons to be gleaned from achieving said quest, all the boons in the world won’t help if you’ve been defeated before you can complete it.

Take this deck, a druid quest deck. A sizeable portion of the minions have high attack which means either a high mana cost or low health. That’s good against slower decks but verses an aggro or zoo deck, you’re in trouble. Add to that the fact that the ranks below 20 tend to be full of a lot of aggressive decks which try to end games as quickly as possible and it’s safe to say that the odds are less stacked against me and more a mountainous barrier impeding my advancement.

Losing is as much a part of Hearthstone as winning, much like any facet of life. Learning to take defeat and failure well is a wise thing, for sometimes you don’t lose just once but many times before the streak stops. I won’t say if that happens here but you’ve probably guessed for yourself, perhaps correctly too.
