Last Scenario #84 - Fall of the Kingdom
Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

Time for the assault on Condor...and judging by the welcoming party at the entrance, it's not going to be a hard task to complete at all since they're just the weak soldiers seen on the Lemuria.
On the plus side, there are a few things of interest. Two of those are treasure chests with the first one being found after clearing the first set of soldiers out. After passing north beyond the first save point, there's an exit to the south you can reach by taking the stairs up to it and it'll lead to a Warding Charm. This accessory blocks all status ailments from landing which is always a good treat. Even better when you consider the fact the Selene tile trades in for TWO of them.
Before getting to the second chest, there's a scene where some sneaking by of soldiers happen, then you walk through a seemingly empty corridor, but there's a locked door along the way. Keep this in mind for later.
After getting out of the corridor and seeing a brief scene, you'll find the second save point. The throne room is to the north, but check out the door just to the east. After batting aside the soldiers inside, you'll find a Brutal Attack spellcard in the chest. For 65 mp, this spellcard performs a strong attack against a target in return for doing some small recoil damage to the caster. Its crisis ability is Flurry which is basically the multi target variant for both damage on the enemy and recoil damage for the party, all for an extra 10 mp compared to the base spell.
Upon entering the throne room, the team finds King Alfred III. His whole reasoning for this war basically amounts to daddy issues. He wanted to make him proud with his accomplishments, but clearly that all went topsy turvy when his most trusted general, Castor, turned on him.
Upon his agreement to relinquish the throne and tell everyone in the Kingdom to surrender, the team runs into a couple of familiar faces in Earp & Flynn. They expect a fight to break out, but it's quite the opposite. In fact, they have one request...to save Castor. He's gone as far as to ditch his closest allies all in the name of power, but they still have hope he'll come back to them as his old self.
The only thing left then is to finally take the battle to Castor. There's even some random earthquakes that originate from the same location as Castor put in his message. This screams final dungeon in every way possible, complete with some rad music for the dungeon too.
However, with the Lemuria available now, you can access every last location on the world map, meaning it's possible to do a bunch of side quests for exp, zenny, items, and some tough challenges. We won't be doing those just yet, but I am going to go grab one item that unlocks upon the final dungeon becoming open.
If you head back to Herzog, you'll want to head into the palace and talk to Valentin, Matilda's husband. They share a pretty chill moment before Valentin hands over the Matilda tile which boasts the highest attack power possible of 9, meaning she WILL flip any tiles she engages with, be it if she initiates the attack or if the enemy does. She even has a decent attack range spread too.
However, she's getting traded in right away. Why? Because she gives you 15 Strength Capsules. All, and I mean ALL of them, are going straight to Matilda. Her attack power with all those capsules right now sits at 631. Hilbert & Ethan right now would be able to reach 400-450 attack at best. Matilda's SCARY right now...and she doesn't even have her best weapon.
Next time, we're going to take a look around the liberated Condor.
