Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

While we should be diving into the final dungeon right now, we'll be heading to Condor first as there's lots to check out around town.

On the east side of the first screen, there's a couple houses, each with a Hex player inside. The first one, Rita, isn't all that special besides me snagging my 3rd Amphisbaena tile. Those can be traded in for a Serpent Hat, a helm that gives a +15 boost to most stats, makes the wearer always silenced, and grants poison immunity.

The other Hex player is someone we haven't seen since the early game, Risanna. She's bulked up her deck quite a bit since her first appearance, even having a new character tile, Zawu, in her lineup. The Zawu tile trades in for 20 Diamond Dusts.

Heading straight north from the entrance leads to a save point and plenty of buildings to visit. There's an armory with some top tier defensive equipment, but there'll be even better equipment with secondary effects so don't bother buying anything. Do make sure to sell some stuff if you're under 300k gold though as there's an item to purchase in the castle in a bit.

Heading west into the next screen, there's a library with a Hex player, but more importantly is the NPC in the back, Zagaro. He's deciphered a book detailing how to get into the tomb of an ancient king, but it requires five magical tomes buried all over the world map to unlock. He gives you five torn out pages showing you where each one is. Just keep this in mind for later because the area unlocked is basically the hardest dungeon in the game enemy level wise.

Only other building in this portion of town is the spellcard shop. X-Shield is finally able to be purchased which means I'm going to need three copies of that in due time. Not so important right this moment though.

Back at the save point, going right leads to the inn. In one of the rooms there is another NPC, Melchior. You can challenge him to combat, but if you scan him right away, you're going to be staring down a lv99 enemy that has 500k hp, is immune to four elements (lightning, water, earth, wind), absorbs four elements (fire, ice, light, dark), and has capped stats everywhere except for speed which is extremely close.

While it is possible to defeat him, he's just going to tell you that you failed the lesson. Yeah, you're meant to run from this battle, something no other boss caliber fight in the game has allowed up to this point. I'd question why he's deciding to teach us about running from a fight you can't win at this point of the game, but whatever.

On the plus side, following through with his lesson and running away rewards you with a new spellcard, Stance. For 50 mp, this makes the caster defend. Seems meh...until you realize that defending in this manner makes the caster gain triple the normal amount of crisis. Really really nice honestly.

As for its crisis ability, it's a great panic button. Called Invincibility, this costs 230 mp to fire off, but grants the entire party immunity to damage taken and status ailments for one round.

Back to the save point in town to save up, head north into the castle. Another save here if you want to use it. Otherwise, you'll just want to move north one room, then head east. Inside one of the rooms here are Earp & Flynn. You can talk to them for some backstory to their origins, but Flynn's secretly a Hex player and, appropriately enough, carries the Castor tile. While his use in Hex is limited at best due to low attack range, he does trade in for four Mental Boosters, accessories that double the exp the wearer earns in battle.

As you chat it up around the castle, one soldier in the room you had to sneak past during the invasion has a key you can purchase for 300k gold. Do so because it unlocks that door I mentioned in the last video down in the basement.

Inside the room is a bunch of treasure. In total, there's a Serpent Eye, Purple Herb, Diamond Dust, Mental Booster, Key Tablet III, and three stat boosting capsules (Mind, Dexterity, and Life). Seems a bit underwhelming for 300k spent, but there's also an ornate chest. Opening it up triggers a fight against Paragon.

Paragon sticks to single target attacks that don't really do insane damage. Nothing that can't easily be cured in quick order. Wind Cannon can inflict silence while Vile Touch inflicts poison & chaos.

Paragon has 27500 hp, resists light, is weak to dark, and has a Luck Capsule up for stealing while dropping a Holy Water & Erdegeist tile.

After the battle, the 300k gold payout on the key becomes worth it when the chest provides an Artemis Bow on top of everything else. As you'd expect, this is Hilbert's best weapon.

Next time, we'll be diving into the final dungeon.
