Late-Game Minecraft 222 :: Looking for Tuff
2For our base, we want to build with tuff but we do not have a lot of it! After we complete some tasks around the base, we head into the mines where we dig up a large chunk of tuff underneath one of the amethyst geodes. We look for copper ore as well since it can also be used for building!
We change the spruce columns to tuff instead, as it matches the deepslate better! However, we use up every single tuff block in our possession! We also look around for a companion for our sheep, which we find at the edge of the dark forest! We breed the two sheep and shear them.
Next, we craft a fence gate for the sheep pen and add some torches! At the chest area, we pick up some copper ore blocks and mine it with Fortune III. The raw copper goes into the furnaces with some dried kelp to be turned into copper ingots!
In the midst of our moss garden, we hide a sea lantern underneath a moss carpet for invisible light! Then, we harvest some resources like honeycomb and wool. We cross the river to find the cave with the spider spawner, where we mine copper ore!
We cut down the sugar canes growing by the stream of axolotls, then shear the sheep before going to bed. In the morning, we plant spruce saplings and harvest some kelp! After feeding the kelp into the furnace with a hopper, we head into the caves!
We mine some amethyst and take a swim in the flooded section, slaying a glow squid along the way. Then, we look for tuff deposits that we can mine! We see one beside the lava lake but mining it would leave a huge hole there!
Instead we head to the other amethyst geode where there is some tuff underneath! This tuff is well-hidden so there should be no issues with harvesting it. We gather more than a stack of the greyish rocks, which should be sufficient for planning the base!
We climb out of the hole that we dug and mine some iron on the way out. While finding our way in the caves, we mess up a water source which washes away some of our torches, oops! We look around for more tuff and copper ore, since we want to use these materials to build up the base!
Eventually, we find ourselves back in the amethyst geode tunnel! We go back down to the lava lake to continue our search for building materials. We end up searching the parts of the caves which are closer to the surface, where copper is decently common but no tuff can be found!
Here, we find a little more copper while walking around in circles! We find a deep and dark part of the cave with a few creepers, but it leads to a dead end. After we carve a staircase into the walls to get out, we find another unexplored cave that leads to a dead end!
Heading back to the big cavern, we explore beyond the lava stream to find a third dead end! There are sounds of spiders, and we try to mine away some stone to find them. We are unsuccessful though! The spiders may be crawling around on the surface since we seem quite close to it!
We head back to the big cavern, where we realise that it was where we had originally entered the cave system! We had fallen into the cavern by accident and had to deal with some mobs. We do not remember how we got back up, but we have an idea!
As we fly up, we take a lot of damage and get down to one heart! Maybe using our Elytra and rockets in the caves was not such a good idea... We end up beside the place where we had mined our first copper, where we munch on golden carrots to restore our health and hunger before ending the episode!
