Late-Game Minecraft 220 :: Searching for Beeswax
To preserve the colour of our copper blocks, we need some beeswax! We fly around the area to look for it, but are ultimately unsuccessful! We even find a spider dungeon and a zombie villager. In the end, we are forced to return to our mountain base to pick up a beehive!
We want to start work on the new base soon, so we move the block palette out of the way! Heading over to the ocean to chop our spruce tree, we collect the wood and use it to craft a campfire! Without it, we would get attacked by angry bees when harvesting from a beehive!
Next, we enter the forest to look for any signs of bees! We find a lone sand block which was probably placed down by an Enderman. However, there are no bees at all! We cross the river into the plains, intending to continue our search there. The sun begins to set so we place down our bed to sleep.
The sounds of spiders emanate from a nearby cave, and we go in to investigate! Since it is quite close to our base, we also want to light up the area. Unexpectedly, we find a dungeon with a spider spawner! We also hear a zombie villager and a witch beneath the ground, but cannot find them anywhere in the caves!
We decide to mine downwards and break into an underground lake of water! Along with the zombie villager, there are some axolotls and glow ink sacs. Having a villager around would be very useful for our new base! We lure the zombie villager up to the surface after a few tries and trap it.
So that the zombie does not despawn, we name it with our name tag! If the zombie villager could pick up items, giving it any item is one way to prevent despawning as well. Exploring around the caves, we still cannot find the witch!
I guess there are even more caves in the vicinity, but after we dig a little deeper, we no longer hear the sounds of the witch! Oh well. We pick up the loot from the dungeon chests before leaving. While heading out of the caves, we dig away a dirt block with a sunflower on it!
The sunflower gets added to the moss garden. At our storage chests, we clear our inventory and Shulker boxes of items! Our chests are starting to fill up again, especially with random items like three Cat music discs! We pick up our maps and our spyglass before taking off.
Across the ocean, we reach the forest where we had witnessed 4 sheep getting killed by wolves! We build a proper coffin for the sheep with spruce planks. In the forest, we find two more places where sheep had died and add their remains to the coffin, before updating the sign.
This forest too seems devoid of any bees! We pick up a dandelion to place on the grave before searching again. There are many wolves barking but we do not hear any bees buzzing! We fly up to Spyglass Mountain and finally get the chance to use our spyglass at its peak!
From the mountain, we see that there are clearly no bees in the area! We decide to head back to the mountain base where we had stored many spare beehives. We can also use this opportunity to repair our tools and stock up on supplies! As we get down from the mountain, we take some fall damage, oops!
When flying over the mountain base, we decide to continue flying to our world spawn instead! Here, we have an automatic chicken farm that provides useful items for trading. We return to the mountain base and head to the storage room as it is getting late!
In the morning, we craft some scaffolding and pick up some iron from the iron farm before selling items to the villagers for emeralds and experience! Since our librarians sell glass and lanterns for a cheap
price, we purchase some for our new base!
Glass is always a material that's hard to get if you are far from a desert! We have a little issue with our inventory being too full, so we have to leave items on the floor as we do our shopping. We end the episode in our storage room, where we find the beehives that we were looking for at long last!
