Now that the drop shafts are all completed, we start work on the platforms where mobs will spawn! We have been smelting up a lot of smooth stone in preparation for this moment. We place in the redstone to activate the flushing mechanism as well, which brings all the mobs to the sorting system!

We continue working on the access shaft to the collection room where all the mobs will end up! We had previously been using the drop shafts for spiders to access this room, but we will be covering that up. Seeing a sole diorite block on the walls above us, we build a tower of scaffolding up to remove it!

Once we see deepslate, we know that we are close to the level of the collection room! We use the debug screen to check our coordinates and confirm this. When we are at the correct level, we mine towards the mob collection room to link the access shaft to it!

We see a medium-sized slime wandering around our mob room and slay it! The sky is turning dark so we sleep to skip the night. We store all the resources that we gather in our Shulker boxes! Then, we fly out of the underground to store our items in the chests on the surface.

Organising the items in our chests, we pick up our trapdoors and the redstone items! We cover up the wide drop shaft with lava walls and return to working on the first spawning floor. We build up a border of smooth stone that surrounds the entire square pit where we will place our redstone wiring!

Flying back to the chests in front of the deepslate base, we start smelting even more stone! We are not sure how much smooth stone we need, but we have a feeling that what we currently have is not enough! We also harvest some honeycomb and free a bee from our spruce boat.

Diving into the ocean, we slay a few drowned to mend our tools! We return to the mob farm and place down the trapdoors that block the flow of water. In the corners of the farm, we add in stone bricks to prevent the mobs from getting to those spots where water does not flow!

Seems like we need a few more trapdoors, so we go back to our chests to craft more! We make a small shaft at the edge of the farm where we can fit some redstone torches for the controls of the flushing mechanism. After sleeping, we decide to extend this shaft all the way to the surface!

We fly out of the square pit and start mining downwards, replacing all the diorite that we find with normal stone! Below the spawning floor, we notice some strange shading in the shaft! Assuming that it is a lighting glitch, we try various ways to fix it without success.

What a strange occurrence! We are a little annoyed by the darker shading of one column of the shaft, but we are not sure how to fix it. We simply continue mining downwards until we reach the collection chamber. Flying back out of the depths, we place some water behind the trapdoors!

The farm that we are building was inspired by LogicalGeekBoy's copper farm, which you can find in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_aoy8FCmGo)! Most of the mechanisms are quite similar, but I had made some modifications so that the farm could work underground!

We continue to place the redstone wiring around the entire farm, before placing down a redstone torch! Then, we cover up the trapdoors with stone bricks. Running out of stone, we fly up to the storage chests to get more! We place down some repeaters so that the redstone current can reach all the trapdoors.

As the sun sets, it starts raining which is a relatively rare occurrence in our world! We sleep for the night before flying upwards to look at the entire spawning floor from a distance. We test the flushing mechanisms a few more times by removing and placing back the redstone torch!

Returning to the furnaces, we pick up our smooth stone and mend our tools with the experience! We also craft more trapdoors to cover the stone bricks, as apparently this helps to prevent the spiders from climbing the walls of the mob farm. After placing down the trapdoors, we end the episode.
