PREVIOUSLY:
The band travels back to Jeremi. After giving Zalan the ring from Pepe, Noa asks him about the Star Pearl, to which he confirms to be in his possession. He offers the jewel to them since he has no further use for it. Before continuing on their journey, the party rests at the town inn, Noa once again dreams about her parents, telling her to meet them at the source of the Mist, Conkram.

On the next day, the heroes travel northeast of Octam to a place called the Shadow Gate. Upon arriving, they are met by Gi Delilas, who possesses a Seru just like them. With one-on-one battles serving as their family tradition, the blade wielder challenges Vahn to a duel, but before they could duke it out, Lu and Che Delilas appear out of nowhere and inform their brother that they have other matters to attend to. The Delilases then leave the scene after sending out a warning to the Ra-Seru heroes.

After the awkward display of events, the heroes solve a riddle using the information they got from the Temple of Rem, revealing a pathway going underground, and by using the Star Pearl, they gain access to its entrance. After traveling a few levels underground, they manage to find an exit.
