PREVIOUSLY:
Vahn, Noa, and Gala enters the town of Vidna, where large windmills prevent the entrance of the Mist inside the city. As promised by the heroes to Zalan, they look for his son Pepe and relays the jeweler's letter. Though Pepe is happy that his father still lives, he reveals the unfortunate news of his mother's passing years ago due to a sickness, after the conversation, he asks them to give Yuma's ring to Zalan, to which the heroes accept.

The city is also a home to a group of Birons, a priestess named Sashia overhears their conversation about their Ra-Seru, and introduces herself as a servant of the Temple of Rem. Before the arrival of the Mist, Hari has instructed her to wait for the three Ra-Seru heroes in Vidna, and pass on The Message to them.

Guided by The Message from Hari, the heroes arrive at the eternal city of Octam. The city is enveloped in Mist, so Gala suspects that they might not find Hari there, but Vahn suggests that they explore the city for clues. They enter the central building which is the Temple of Rem, and inside lies the four Books of Prophecies. After reading all four, a secret passage underneath one of the pedestals reveals itself.

The party goes down to check, and meets a thief named Cara. She reveals that the townspeople have fled to the underground upon hearing the appearance of the Mist, and that the only thing she could pilfer in the city was a jewel called the Star Pearl, to which she had passed on to Zalan. Before Gala could ask anymore questions, Cara had already left. Though they have many questions to be asked, what baffled them the most is how Cara could travel in the Mist unharmed.
The trio exits the city of Octam and takes a trip back to Jeremi.
