Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we hop over to the backend to get important work done on messaging before we proceed on the frontend. We create a new model for a conversation between multiple people, along with a skeleton for our messages. Then we setup a simple repository to create and find conversations. We setup a service to be able to do the logic of creating or finding specific conversations for a user, and finally setup a controller for the application users to actually access their conversations.
