Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

In this episode we finally start on something new in the frontend. We are finally starting to take on the messaging aspect of our application. We start out by setting up a new context specifically for messaging to keep every encapsulated there. Then we create the popup component that sits in the bottom right of twitter that allows you to quickly look at all of your messages. To create this we of course create the popup component that opens and closes, but we also create the message bar which allows you to create a new message, and actually open and close the popup.
