Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode we finally wrap up the notifications page. We start out by finishing up the post action notification work that we didn’t quite have enough time for in the previous episode, including some CSS work, and bringing in the icons for like and repost notifications. Then we do work to setup mention notifications. Which included updating the the NotificationSlice to accept mention notifications, updating the MentionNotification component to render mention notifications, and finally updating the NotificationAll component to accept mention notifications. To wrap up we created the static verified notifications page, and did some cleanup debugging to fix any small issues that we were still seeing after finishing up the work.
