Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.
In this episode our focus is on getting follow notifications to show up in our notifications page. To do this we create a new component which uses the generic Notification component we worked on in the last episode and create the FollowNotification component. Once we have implemented this we can setup the subpage of the NotificationPage which displays all types of notifications. This component houses the logic for grouping certain components together, and we write the logic to group the read and unread follow notifications similarly to twitter. Finally we test out our changes to be sure they are working as we expect them to be.
