Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

In this episode we continue focusing on getting everything we need to get the profile operational setup. We primarily focus on setting up a new ProfileSlice today to be able to fetch the profile users information and share it across multiple components. We borrowed the axios request from the Profile page and made it into a new asyncThunk request, and setup all the needed reduces to handle the data coming back. After setting up the new slice, we setup the dispatch in the Layout page whenever someone visits a new users profile. Finally, we setup a simple loading state inside of the Profile page so we know when the users profile is loading.
