88Though we’ve fought our way through quite a lot of the castle’s defenders already, there are still a couple more encounters between us and their leader. Some of them are of the kind we’ve seen before, orcs and orogs, but others are made up of powerful bhaalspawn who could have given us a run for our money earlier in the Shadows of Amn. That doesn’t mean we should dismiss the threat they pose, however; wizards always remain dangerous and melee combatants can hit quite hard when they want to, especially rogues when they backstab.
As for Gromnir himself, you may think that the game will allow you to find a diplomatic solution to make him stand down but that isn’t the case. Gromnir is too far gone into his paranoia, throwing accusations left and right at all whom he suspects and eliminating them shortly afterwards. That Mellisan has not yet suffered the same fate speaks either of her mastery of diplomacy or her power. As for us, we have no intention of falling to a man lost to madness which means there’s only one way this encounter is going to end: messily.
