Pretty soon we’re going to have to make a decision, that being whether we send out the transmission warning the UAC fleet about what’s happening on Mars or not. We possess the codes to do so and while Swann and his bodyguard are trying their best to stop us, we’re bound to get to somewhere capable of transmitting that message at some point. Once there, we’ll need to think long and hard on what’s the right thing to do. On the one hand, bringing the fleet here means that we’ll have the numbers and firepower needed to stand a better chance at stopping whatever is happening here.

On the other hand, keeping the fleet in the dark ensures that the problem remains contained here. The longer this crisis goes on for, the more it’s becoming apparent that military might alone isn’t going to be sufficient to deal with it. We know too little about why these things are here and how to stop them to risk them getting access to the ships in the fleet that they could use to fly to Earth and spread havoc there. It’s probably only a matter of time before someone comes to investigate why Mars City has gone silent but any time we have to come up with a plan and possibly stop the attacks is time that Earth is safe.

It’s a tricky decision and one we’ll need to think very carefully about.
