Let’s Play The Fall Part 2 Unbound #07: A Network of One
This is my first playthrough through this game. Kindly avoid posting spoilers in the comments or solutions to puzzles either in this video or future ones so as not to spoil the experience for me or those that haven’t seen the game before.
The closer we get to isolating the One as a network of one, the more we learn about how vulnerable its uniqueness is. While it outwardly states that it’s strong, it’s still connected to the Many and is becoming increasingly concerned that it will lose itself should we keep shutting down the nodes that connect the Many to it. Arid has managed to keep it on task with a mixture of logical deduction and playing to its ego and while Arid appears concerned about the One’s wellbeing, efforts to minimise the damage caused to the other AI are being vetoed by our singular, all-encompassing rule. Despite our best efforts, it seems we’re on course to cause massive damage to another AI in our relentless pursuit of the user.
Presuming that we manage to get the information we need, we’ll likely need to traverse network space once more to find where the user is. Once there, we’ll need another robot to allow us to achieve our goals. I’d like to think that after all we’ve done to the One that we’d be more sensitive with the third AI we come across but sadly I know that’s not going to be the case. Arid may not realise it but the virus is taking hold to the point that it might already be too late to stop it from destroying us. That’s not going to stop Arid from trying, however. In fact, I fear nothing short of deletion will stop it now.
