Let's Play Digimon World Part 60 - Garurumon's Final and Deadly Duel, En Garde!
1Playing what is arguably a most favorite and fondly-remembered game of mines from the childhood days, Digimon World presents an exciting adventure for me and my cousin here as we both delve forward into a duo playthrough together from beginning to end to bring back File Island to it's original bustling city status!
At last, we face off against the perilous Garurumon once more, the last of which we touched on him was well over 30 parts ago back as Vademon who, whilst not a bad digimon outright, just couldn't hold his own against this champion beast, not with the techs and stats he had at the time anyhow. But yes, Cynite the MetalGreymon is here to settle things once and for all!
...And then you're wondering why on earth the video started off with him seemingly having lost a battle and having to reset it and all?
Well, you see there's an interesting tale to be told about it, since I'm not the kind to normally make mistakes here, less I intend on making them. And why say that specifically?
Good question, I was actually *intentionally* losing a few fights to Garurumon (the first offscreen alongside two more later on in the video) so as to hopefully trigger that small chance of MetalGreymon 'digivolving' (a rare case of side-digivolution where it 'digivolves' from one form of ultimate into another, same can happen with some champions as well!) into the reputed SkullGreymon that I have as one of my five ultimates. Certainly that'd have made for quite the WTF moment for Jay, seeing his Cynite 'digivolve' even further into that legendary Mega digimon indeed!
But yes, first battle failed because literally I only had Metal Sprinter equipped on Cynite, guaranteed failure right off the bat and it ended after just 90 seconds or so! Second was a good bit longer, having that Power Crane move and all, but still MetalGreymon lost to the Garurumon, who has quite the belt of wins against us thus far!
The third battle, which I actually equipped him with his most powerful tech alongside the other two, somehow he ended up with only a quarter of his health, reckon I forgot to heal him that time. Oops!
But yes, the fourth, final battle in this long gruesome series to win Garurumon over to File City FINALLY concludes when I have him properly healed this time, still not being smart with having the weaker two techs still equipped, but alas MetalGreymon wasn't so bad acting on his own this time and, thus, he finally beat Garurumon fair and square, 'One on One' as it were!
A shame Garurumon isn't all that useful, serving mainly in the restaurant that, surprisingly, we never really got around to using in this playthrough, but who wants to pay several thousand bits for a meal that only gives a small/moderate amount of stat boosts to one/two/three stats through all those loading screens? Tsk, tsk!
Ah well, least that concludes that long chapter of Digimon World at last eh?
