Let's Play Digimon World Part 58 - Battle of the Greymons
Playing what is arguably a most favorite and fondly-remembered game of mines from the childhood days, Digimon World presents an exciting adventure for me and my cousin here as we both delve forward into a duo playthrough together from beginning to end to bring back File Island to it's original bustling city status!
Oh man, what an episode this will be!
Before we even get started with the upcoming intense multiplayer action with Jay's improved digimon and my own expert handpicked ones, I finally get around to showing my cousin that wacky glitch that I spoke of a while back when he was still begrudging over the long lifespan of Halite the Monzaemon, where you trigger it simply by going into the card gallery screen, showcasing any one card and then backing in and out VERY quickly in order to get the chosen card 'stuck' in front of the screen.
After that, well let's just say madness ensued, noting that the digivolution chart nearby was quite glitchy indeed, with how you could 'see' digimon that you've yet to unlock as well as those you could've got with the left and right sides only showing what digimon you've currently unlocked and all.
Quite the nifty trick indeed for those earlier in the days without internet and all! A pity some screens practically crash the game with said glitch active, but hey it's a fun distraction to be had!
Anyhow, with Cynite the MetalGreymon and his champion form Tyrannonmon looking to be quite the fun fight, we decided to get real this time with the multiplayer fights, starting off once more with my Kunemon versus his Centarumon which, surprisingly enough, once more landed in a close fight that just barely went in my favor, one nil so far!
Of course though, Jay scoobied up some of his digimon, therefore ending in a much unfair fight with my Biyomon against his Monzaemon just getting wiped out, no question there! Also Birdramon against his recent Tyrannomon actually not being as close a battle as I thought it would have, so indeed Jay was looking to win this series here!
But, well my Airdramon was supposed to be fighting his Monzaemon, but instead he pulled up that pathetic Numemon again, thus leading to what is easily a no-brainer fight here!
However, the real juicy battle of this video was my SkullGreymon versus his new MetalGreymon, the 'Battle of the Greymons' indeed! Though you would have thought his Cynite would be an even match for my Skull, it turned out that Ice Statue is kind of OP! Both a fairly strong move and fast in speed, but also having the handy paralysis condition, making mincemeat out of his tough digimon no bother!
Should've had an ice or air type in this playthrough, that way we'd be seeing some REAL action this way, but alas Jay was stuck with mostly the battle and fire kinds, with two of three being of the mechanical variant!
Ah well, we give it another bash later on, starting off with Jay's Vademon against my weakest ultimate in the form of Piximon, who ends up holding out against Opal rather well all things considered! Then again, Bug is quite overpowered on it's own, the only tech to possibly multi-hit on top of possible pixelisation, and then you have Confusion Storm to hit him hard with the confusion status, juggle those two and you have a right recipe of disaster... For the opponent!
Then SkullGreymon eats up his next meal, Monzaemon, and that, as they say, was that!
Last of all, and my personal favorite of the lot, is the titan insectoid himself, Xavier the HerculesKabuterimon, (such a long name it can't be spelt properly on the menu file screen, on the digimon chart or even in the battle arena intro!) against his pitiful ultimate MetalGreymon, such that it was that I mocked his atrocious damage against my most powerful ultimate, only digimon to have maximized a stat that was defence, so essentially he'd barely be doing any damage to mines at all!
And by god, that finisher that is Giga Scissor Claw indeed! *3,285* points of HP damage in a single move!! I gotta say, even Jay's best has nothing on Xavier here! Truly I was holding back my elite against his, and for good reason too!
Maybe he'll impress me in the next round, but who knows?!
In any case, I hope you enjoyed the video and any constructive comments or criticism is appreciated!
