The game may be over, but there's one more part of it that I played a lot after I completed it: the Battle Arena. The arena pits your party against either increasingly more challenging fights against computer controlled foes or three of your team against another persons team of three via link cable.

Since I didn't have any friends back then that owned Golden Sun -
that lived on the same continent as me that is - I played against the AI opponents a lot. You can do this as soon as Isaac and Garet leave Vale but without healing, your party won't last long. The idea is to see how far your team composition can go, with each combat being more challenging and no time between fights to recuperate. The fights are made more difficult by increasing the stats of your opponents the more you defeat, barring hit points which I believe remain constant.

I managed to get rather far when I was younger and that was without knowing many of the intricacies of the games mechanics. Let's see if I can do better then I remember doing when I was younger.
