2:46 has the escape battle. 10:32 has the final battle of Chapter 1, a simple Orkus invasion. 18:56 has the proof of concept about the escape battle locking out the player from blocking off the Outer Zone that infinitely respawns the Killer Fish outside the New Game+ feature that the game has.

Handling an errand, Isaac runs into some bigger fish to fry. He has to escape, and to manage as much, we get the Earth Wall spell, which creates a line of rock pillars where the player wants them. The pillars blockade against all standard attacks and movement from both sides, for better or worse. It can at least be useful for blocking off the bigger threats to get a rest opportunity. Obviously, this would keep the Killer Fish under control. Sadly, even though I can make use of Earth Wall to escort my momentum to the Outer Zone, it's pointless to try to have a unit sit on it to prevent the Killer Fish from respawning infinitely because the Killer Fish will spawn and push any would-be blockers off. Just...what? And I can tell you that this is the ONLY Outer Zone that does this, and won't do this on New Game+ either. I am guessing it's because it's before the tutorial we will have on Outer Zones. Game, reward us for creativity with outmaneuvering the threat that has us wanting to flee. It's not like the rest of this would become easier when having to commit a blocker to the Outer Zone blocking would have me down 1 guy for the 5 Undines along the way to the escape point.

Then there's the battle with the Orkuses. Most of it becomes a show of why having more monsters can sometimes be disadvantageous, particularly when I would want to capture one of the Battle Orkuses because hey, Pokemon.

And so Isaac returns home to find the house on fire. Because yep, Diva of the Twilight had subverted the Sorting Algorithm of Evil to hunt down the Wand of Light. However, Hanna Arlent makes a bid on a Heroic Sacrifice to permit Isaac and Trista escape via a teleport spell from Trista, who explains to Isaac what is going on about Diva of the Twilight, real name Seneka Windell....why does that name sound familiar? I'm sure it'll come to me.

Either way, Chapter 1 is over.
