Let's Play Mario & Luigi: Starlight Island Adventure - Part 13: The Stones That Would Not Stay Still
In the final section of World 7, we have 7-4/Tidal Temples 4. I quite like this level, filled as it is with various moving things. There are blocks that move back and forth all over the place, large boulders that fall from gaps in the ceiling, fire-spitting snakes...and even more moving blocks in the second room. (Though did I mention we really need a better way to make Layer 3 backgrounds?...) Then we come to Larry's castle, which is not one of my favorite castles in the game. It's mainly the first part that is the problem; the water level in that room rises and falls, which in this case tends to result in either a lot of waiting or ending up on top of spikes, or even both. The second part is a bit easier, as it is completely underwater, though there are still skeletal enemies around and spikes all over the place, some of which can fall on you. Larry himself is another boss whose attacks come at you so fast you have to react to them *ahead* of time. He walks around shooting green and blue flames, and the green ones sometimes spawn throw blocks, which you use to defeat him. There is one more level in World 7 to conquer: Heavy B's Fortress. It's gimmick is that there are platforms throughout the level that alternate between interacting with the player and not interacting, necessitating proper timing to get across. In the second room, there are also climbable chains that do the same thing. The enemies in the level are the kinds found in ghost houses, like Boos and Eeries. Even the boss is one; Heavy B is a Big Boo Boss who is...pretty much pathetically easy. He has the same attack pattern as any other Big Boo Boss, so grab a throw block, hit him with it, wait, rinse and repeat. Easiest fortress boss in the game, if not easiest boss outright.
Now, however, we have only one world left in the game, where Bowser awaits...
