Now that we've completed the intro stage, we're off to take down the latest round of eight Mavericks. There are various orders you could go in, but since I won't be using any special weapons against the bosses, I have more flexibility in what order I take them on. The most commonly-recommended order I've found goes from Web Spider to Slash Beast, though that might not be the easiest way to go about it. I've started with Web Spider anyway, though, because you can get one of the Dr. Light capsules from his stage right away and the boss isn't too hard...if you're careful. The problem with taking on Web Spider first is that he can drain X's health bar pretty quickly. For the first half (or perhaps closer to two-thirds) of the battle, he'll drop down from the trees and perform his main attack, firing off an electric spiderweb that homes in on the player, then going back up and disappearing into the foliage. This pattern repeats until he's down to maybe 40% health or so, at which point he'll make a large web for himself and crawl along it, stopping every now and then to either shoot another web or spawn four small spiders that go across the floor and up the walls. He always separates the spider attack by two web attacks, so his pattern is pretty simple. Upon his defeat, X receives the Lightning Web, which shoots a web of electricity at a certain distance forward. As far as his stage goes, it's pretty nice-looking and has great music. You're in a jungle, where a secret weapon is hidden, guarded by Web Spider and his army of wasps, snakes, electric spiders, insects, fish-man-bots, and more. It's not too hard, but I wouldn't call it easy either.
