Let's Play Mirror's Edge: Catalyst | Episode 18: Exit Strategy | Complete Coverage | Beatrix Bloch
Welcome back to Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, a reboot of 2008's Mirror's Edge with improved graphics, refined gameplay, and a completely original story. The tale follows Faith, a Runner in Glass, Cascadia, a fictional country in a fantasy world where a communist government got overtaken by private corporations. After a stint in Kreuger's Juvenile home for a period of three months and finding herself in debt to Dogen, a local crime boss, Faith is finally released and must work off her debt as soon as possible. On a high-paying job, she finds herself tailing an OMNISTAT spy and steals something valuable from him. This device could be her salvation or her unmaking. The game primarily focuses on Parkour even though it has fighting and combat every now and then. It is a first person 3D platformer.
Whille Faith waits for the Reflection virus to finish development and begin integration with Gabriel Kreuger's own GridPrint for authorisation, she decides to complete a few other jobs around the city for some other friends.
She starts off by helping plastic gain complete coverage over the MetaGrid access across the city and heads over to collect more DataPoints from the MetaGrid. This was her most difficult challenge yet, but she succesfully managed to complete it regardless.
But shortly afterwards, she was contacted by Beatrix Bloch, a HiCaste woman whom she had met in a nightclub with Nomad for a brief bit once before. The most striking thing about this woman was how she was still very relatable despite the sheer difference in class. She now wanted to Faith's help.
When Faith met her, Bloch explained that she has been wed by her board to a man and that he is an abusive person who sleeps around with his mistress. She wants to use evidence of that fact to get the marriage annulled. She gives faith some surveillence devices and points her to three locations where she wants to place some taps so that she can catch her husband in the act of cheating.
Faith does as asked and places taps in all three locations. The last one was the husband's office, but as soon as she places the tap there, the security system at the office detects her presence and notifies KSEC. Luckily, her Safehouse is right next door and all she has to do is run through a door and climb some pipes to access it, which she naturally does.
