Welcome back to Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, a reboot of 2008's Mirror's Edge with improved graphics, refined gameplay, and a completely original story. The tale follows Faith, a Runner in Glass, Cascadia, a fictional country in a fantasy world where a communist government got overtaken by private corporations. After a stint in Kreuger's Juvenile home for a period of three months and finding herself in debt to Dogen, a local crime boss, Faith is finally released and must work off her debt as soon as possible. On a high-paying job, she finds herself tailing an OMNISTAT spy and steals something valuable from him. This device could be her salvation or her unmaking. The game primarily focuses on Parkour even though it has fighting and combat every now and then. It is a first person 3D platformer.

After learning about Kingdom, Faith rushes to meet Dogen to ask him about Kingdom. It is utmost importance to find and secure Noah if he can be saved. Dogen, on the other hand, is not in the mood. She begs and pleads and Dogen finally lets up and tells her where to look. Faith has to head over to Rezoning and look underground. Coincidentally, those are the underground OMNISTAT tunnels that the Black November also use as their base.

On her way to Rezoning, Plastic contacts Faith and tells her of Isabel's true identity. Apparently, she wasn't Kreuger's own daughter and was adopted instead. In reality, her name was Caitlyn Connors. In other words, Faith's sister Kate. While Faith had never really stood for bloodshed, it is now all the more imperative to stop her execution at the hands of Rebecca Thane.

Faith heads straight for Isabel's cell only to find it empty. She finds Icarus nearby and learns that she has been taken deeper into the tunnels for execution. She rushes to the location and finds Thane ready to pull the trigger. Now or never, she interrupts them and spills the beans. Rebecca is still stuck steadfast to her own propaganda and the only thing that dissuades her is the mention of the Reflection Blueprint. She gives Faith twelve hours to set things straight.

With that, Faith heads for Kingdom, enlisting Plastic's help only to find Icarus waiting to help her. She convinces him to let her run alone and focus on her sister, Kate instead. With that, she heads for Kingdom.

Her goal is to reach the detention centre and when she does, she finds the scientist from Elysium there. Aline Maera recognises faith immediately and explains the true intentions behind Reflection. Apparently, its nanotechnology that can control every aspect of a host's life including life, death, and will. She also tells him that Noah had been taken for interrogation. With that, she asks Faith to free her from her prison.

Faith complies and immediately rushes to the interrogation chambers to find Noah. Because of the fact that all the prisoners are now free, she must wade through a slew of KreugerSec personnel. By the time she reaches Noah, he seems to be in the middle of an interrogation by none other than Gabriel Kreuger himself. When Kreuger realises that the man doesn't know anything, he orders his execution and by the time Faith can get to him, it turns out to be too late. She has now lost Noah once again. This is when Aline finds her an reiterates the importance of getting rid of Reflection. Faith tells her to head to the Black November base and wait there while she deals with the rest of the KSEC response. She now has a bone to pick with them.

She heads for the exit, dismantling every KSEC soldier along the way until she finally makes it to the Black November base. Once there, she find Icarus injured. Apparently, as soon as they went above ground, Isabel's tracking beacon activated and Black November was assaulted. Icarus was injected with Reflection and let go. As they licked their wounds back underground, Rebecca bitches once more about the loss of her soldiers and then acknowledging her loss, walks away. Maera tells Faith that she can disable Reflection but she needs the blueprint for the same. Connors tells Icarus to show her to Plastic's lair where a virus can be crafted.
