Let's Play Quest for Glory II VGA #26: Multi-block Adventuring!!
While weapon use increases naturally as part of combat - you can't win if you don't hit them - parry and dodge are a little harder to do dedicated training sessions for. You need to either spar with Uhura or find an enemy out in the desert that has an attack that's easy to dodge or block. Uhura is the safer-but-slower method as she doesn't attack very quickly, but the encounters in the deserts are random and you might not find who you want to.
Bandits are the best daytime opponent while small groups of jacalmen are your ideal nighttime foe. This is because their attacks are obviously telegraphed and slow enough to be easily prevented. The jackalmen are especially good for training parry due to their ability to attack from two directions, not that I knew this when recording this video. The revelation came from me noticing something and asking 'what if I did this?' and for me, that's the sign that I'm really enjoying a game.
