Let's Play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall - Part 6 - Running Away From a Baby Dragon
We are still stuck in the Stronghold of Woodcroft, a random dungeon that has absolutely nothing to do with the main game. Hooray for pointless excursions! Well, we will find our way out of here... eventually... hopefully...
We blunder across a mob of creatures, a conga line that includes a baby dragon. This is more dangerous than you might assume, we seem to die pretty quickly to this thing, so we instead have to run around like a maniac while trying to hit it over and over. We basically die if we bump into any walls, plus ramps result in us getting stuck above it and allowing it to hit us over and over. Luckily the fireballs are a total lie and are melee-based only.
No surprise, but I manage to waste a massive amount of time trying to kill one purple dragon and not really get anywhere with it. We eventually get past the beast, only to find out that it was just a way back to where we were before, meaning all of our exploration was entirely pointless.
I keep checking out the various rooms in hopes of finding my way out of here, but the biggest lead I can find is a route underwater that is impossible to swim through due to my low swim skill (of course this would punish me once again). We try to fight some underwater skeletons, kill some of them, and then find out that we can't make it much farther without drowning. Gotta love the fact that we have to raise all these skills.
After that we begin our quest of going around and trying to figure out exactly what I missed to get out of this place. I fight a lot with the house that has no value and the skeletons of the underwater section. I even return to the beginning of the map and try to climb out the way we came in, only to get blocked by the locked bars at the top of the pit. While it seemed like I was doomed before, now I have just proven that we need to find some other way out of here.
The house turned out to be a red herring, the route back is useless, and the way underwater makes me drown. My only real hope is some magically locked door in the middle of the dungeon, but the problem is that I can't seem to find a way to unlock the door. I try to bash down the door without success, then decide to stop for a bit as I was tired of going around in circles in this hellhole. Hopefully next time we can actually get out of here.
